If you somehow skipped the debut of the Megaclusters mechanics, which was laid down in BTG’s previous game,Star Clusters, it may be pretty complicated to figure out what’s what at first. It was all about symbols breaking up into smaller symbols, producing a bigger game area. Cyberslot comes with a similar concept, though, it’s definitely a step-up in quality, bringing new extras and a whole new level of entertainment. The action here kicks off on a 3×3 grid, which gradually expands to 9×9 as symbols disassemble into tiny ones. Wins are achieved by matching Clusters of 5+ symbols, though, here it’s called the Reactions win system, which is also the key to triggering other in-game extras. Big Time Gaming has taken a slightly different approach when it comes to the stats in comparison toStar Clusters Megaclusters. While the RTP has been reduced to 96.36%, the trade-off is a bumped up variance level as well as a bigger potential. Now it’s a highly volatile math model with a maximum possible payout of 30,000x of the bet. Meanwhile, the betting range remained untouched and true to the developers’ style, players drop in by setting wagers from 0.2$ to 20$ per spin.
As we head over to the paytable, we see a bunch of shiny crystal orbs split into 3 categories. Turquoise and yellow are low, orange and green are mid, and blue, red, and purple make up the premiums. They pay 10x, 20x, and 25x respectively for Clusters of 25+ symbols. A W symbol is Wild and helps you form winning combos by acting as a substitute for any other regular symbols. Alongside a regular one, there are more to be found in Cyberslot, namely Golden and Rainbow ones.
As alluded to earlier, Cyberslot has the Reactions wins system at the heart, which is literally symbols splitting into smaller versions of themselves. Whenever you hit a win, or to be more precise, match at least 5 symbols into a cluster, they break down into 9 smaller symbols. During the Free Spins though, they split into 4 smaller ones instead. If those tiny symbols produce a win, the Cascading Wins feature kicks in and removes all winning clusters to allow new symbols to tumble down onto the grid and fill empty spaces. Reactions keep working until no new winning clusters appear.
The Golden Roaming Wild is always present on the grid and moves to one of the 9 or 81 positions during the base game or Free Spins respectively after any win, constantly floating around the screen and assisting you in hitting wins. When it moves to another position, it’s replaced by 9 new symbols in the base game or 4 in the bonus game. It also comes with the initial multiplier of 1x, which increases by 1x whenever it takes part in a winning combo during the first Reaction and every second Reaction afterward.
There’s a meter on either side of the reels, counting the number of consecutive Reactions. When 12 or more occur on the same spin, players are awarded 6 Free Spins to start and proceed to a largened 9×9 reelset. The accumulated Golden Roaming Wild multiplier is carried over to the bonus game, and when it reaches a multiple of 10, +2 additional free spins are awarded. What’s more, on the first retriggers a Rainbow Roaming Wild symbol comes into play, which also floats around the grid and has a multiplier attached to it.
While the Megaclusters mechanic didn’t get to significantly evolve since the release ofStar Clusters, Cyberslot makes a difference and is surely a step towards further development and improvements. The concept is clearly similar and the game also relies heavily on Wild symbols and multipliers, however, the game addresses the issues of its older brother and, as a result, gives more capabilities.
