BGaming has yet to release anything memorable, at least in terms of a solid slot experience. We do remember our recent run in with their obscure release,Dig Dig Digger, but mostly because of the quirky Russian comedy theme. Dragon’s Gold 100 comes with a full-blown asian theme however, and it’s far from being a feature rich affair.
The visual presentation is dominated by red, with golden dragon ornaments on either side of the 5×4 grid. Flowers hanging over the edge are shedding petals that float slowly down on both sides, and wilds will sometimes expand to cover full reels. Not always though, but they are probably your best hope when it comes to cracking the3,000xpotential.
Thegolden dragon wild can land on the 3 middle reels only, and it steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you complete winning combinations. The wild holds no value of its own, but the top-tier golden ingot symbol pays 30x your stake for 5-oak. The other 3 premiums pay 2x to 5x for 5 of a kind wins.
TheManeki-Neko cat scatterpays 20x your stake when you land 3 on the same spin, and it can only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. TheKoi Fish scatterpays independently of paylines, and landing 3, 4 or 5 anywhere in view awards 3x, 20x or 100x your stake, respectively. Symbols land in stacks of 2 to 8 symbols in height.
Wilds will sometimes expandwhen they land, filling the whole reel. You also get an optionalgamble feature, which is a classic double or nothing card guessing game. There is no bonus round to break up the base game however, so the features above are what you have to look forward to.
The expanded wild feature triggered on a semi-regular basis, awarding decent payouts here and there. Towards the end of the 1:25-minute highlights video, we get 2 expanded wilds combined with some golden ingot symbols. This landed us a solid 107x payout. When you call yourself BGaming, perhaps your ambition is to simply provide B-list releases that are needed to serve as a backdrop so the A-list games can shine. We don’t know, but Dragon’s Gold 100 will hardly have mainstream appeal in the west at least. Lacking any real bonus round, you’re at the mercy of the expanded wild feature, with the occasional scatter wins sprinkled in for good measure.
The3,000xpotential can only be cracked by landing a full screen of gold ingots, and the expanding wilds and stacked symbols come in handy in that regard. The low-level origami symbols are probably the most original thing about this release, although the96.9 %RTP is also decent. Overall, this was a rather tedious affair in our view, but who knows what they will think of it in the asian market.
